Information about Clinical Trials:

Patients (subjects) are solicited who might obtain benefit from a new treatment/device/medication that is not currently available to the public.  A panel of experts (investigators) decide on the treatment and determine eligibility of patients that fit the criteria.  The researchers will then track the progress and changes of the subjects during the treatment.  Decisions will then be made from the data as to the use of the medication/device/new treatment from the patients.  Participation is voluntary and patients are often compensated for their time.
